New Challenge Gives High School Golf Teams Fundraising Opportunity
March 23, 2016
The LPGA Volvik Championship and the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association are excited to announce a partnership with a new fundraising opportunity for high school sports programs.
The Michigan High School Golf Team Challenge presented by MLive will give Michigan High School Athletic Association girls’ and boys’ golf teams an opportunity to fund raise donations for their teams by selling tickets to the LPGA Volvik Championship at Travis Pointe Country Club, May 23-29. Twenty-five (25) percent of their team’s total ticket sales revenue will be returned as a donation to their team’s golf program.
“We are making this process very easy for the high school teams,” said Keith Karbo, LPGA Volvik Championship Tournament Director. “The teams will not be responsible for collecting any money or completing any forms. All ticket sales will be placed online with a special ticket sales promotional code that will be specific to each team.”
The girls’ and the boys’ golf team that generates the highest amount of ticket sales will each receive one playing spot for one team representative in the Official LPGA Pro-Am on Wednesday, May 25. (This fundraising opportunity is in compliance with MHSAA guidelines.)
The Challenge will run from March 28 – April 29.
